Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 22, 2026
ChordCharts (chordcharts.app), operated by AW Consults LLC, is a web and mobile application for writing, organizing, and performing music chord charts. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
-
Account identity: When you sign in with Google, we
receive your email address, display name, and profile picture URL via
Google OAuth (
userinfo.emailanduserinfo.profile). When you sign in by email code, we store your email address. Your lower-cased email address is your account identifier. -
Your music library: Songs (
.vampchord charts), collections, setlists, events, version history, and audio recordings you create or upload are stored on our servers (Cloudflare D1 and R2) and cached on your device so your library works offline and stays in sync across your devices. -
Optional Google Drive song folder (
drive.file): If you connect Google Drive or sign in with Google and enable Song files in Google Drive in Settings, ChordCharts uses thehttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.filescope to create and sync.vampchart files inside aChordChartsfolder in your Google Drive. Because ChordCharts only requests the narrowdrive.filescope, it can only see and edit files and folders that ChordCharts itself creates; it cannot read or access any other files in your Google Drive. - Optional Spotify connection: If you connect your Spotify account in Settings, ChordCharts stores your Spotify OAuth tokens to search tracks and read song metadata you request.
- Billing information: Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. ChordCharts stores your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, and never receives or stores your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To sign you in and sync your songs, collections, setlists, and audio recordings across your devices.
- To share collections, setlists, events, or groups with other users when you choose to share them.
- To sync your songs two-way with your Google Drive
ChordCharts/Songsfolder when you turn that feature on. - To send transactional emails (sign-in codes and setlist access requests you initiate).
We do not sell your personal information or Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use your private library or Google Drive files to train AI models.
3. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)
ChordCharts’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Data Storage, Security & Retention
Your account data, OAuth tokens, and library are stored on Cloudflare (Workers KV, D1 database, and R2 object storage) over encrypted HTTPS connections. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.
5. Revoking Access & Deleting Your Data
- You can turn off the Google Drive song folder at any time in Settings → Song files in Google Drive, and revoke ChordCharts’ Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- You can delete individual songs, collections, setlists, and recordings directly in the app. To delete your entire account and all associated server data, email us at the address below.
